[break][break]
Raised solely by his father after the death of his mother, Linedwell has grown up to be cynical and more than a little bit spoiled. For someone his age, he’s got quite a bit of vitriol towards the world. It's honestly a wonder he hasn’t toppled over from the massive chip on his shoulder. He isn’t above weaponizing the tragedy of his past to evoke guilt in others and get his way in the end - which should be a clear enough picture as to how he goes through life.
[break][break]
Despite how negative his personality sounds at the moment, there are shimmers of light here and there. Outwardly, Linedwell can maintain a gentle and warm personality. He rarely shows any signs of panic or distress, and has learned well to keep his emotions in check. Linedwell can be a soft-spoken, polite, and caring person who uses great respect when addressing his superiors, subordinates, and strangers. However, with the grace and kind manners that he's capable of displaying, he also lets others know quietly that he is not to be taken lightly. Despite his occasional outwardly gentle nature, there are numerous people that have learned to fear him. Beneath his gilded exterior lies an intelligent, cold, and calculating persona that he keeps in check.
Those that he sees as his friends are also thought of as his family, and would protect with them with his life. On the same token, he also finds it hard to trust new individuals.
[break][break]
Linedwell is able pick up information by various methods such as interacting with people or simply observing them. Coupled with the fact that he's a great liar, ferreting out what he wants is something he excels at. His extremely analytical mind is able to study situations and attempt to work out how to turn them to his advantage, as well as prioritize tasks in such a way to maximize his efficiency. Another skill he makes sure to maintain is the ability to keep up with large amounts of miscellaneous information in the hopes that a piece of that information could apply in some way, shape, or form to a current issue or situation.
[break][break]
Though he enjoys combat, he never truly fights out of anger or hate, and rarely takes actions based on this emotion. When he is pushed to this point he has a tendency to hold grudges against those responsible for this. Those held grudges usually don't end well for those on the other end of them.
Once forced into confrontation, Linedwell has a tendency to be merciless when it comes to dispatching any threat to himself or his comrades. Because of this, he usually doesn't entertain the concept of a fight unless the situation is serious. For example, Linedwell would never fight someone over mere insults. If someone is threatening one of his friends or companions, then he'd trust them to handle their own affairs before personally intervening. If they weren't capable of at least handling themselves then Linedwell wouldn't be associated with them to begin with. Jumping into the affairs of others has never been something Linedwell has liked doing - but should things appear grim for his companion he'd begrudgingly offer his assistance.
[break][break]
Linedwell has never exactly been one to lead. This is because he oftentimes values the ability to go off and do whatever he wants without a need to answer to anyone else. This quality often makes it hard for him to be anyone's follower for too long as well. Freedom is extremely important to him, and because of this, during his time with the revolutionaries he has often requested tasks that would allow him to perform solo - without the need of a team. Even though it would be something new for him, he'd be able to eventually get used to the idea of being a leader, as long as the crew holds the same mindset about life as he does. If they don't, they'd obviously be annoying to have conversations with...and that would be a no-no.
APPEARANCE
[break][break]
Linedwell, in simplest terms, can be described as short and attractive. However, if we were to go further in depth, we'd say that Linedwell is a young man that stands at a height of 4'10". Despite his short size, he has a lean, muscular build to him and weighs in at 98 lbs. He usually wears a white headband which is tied around his forehead. His eyes are crimson, with an angular and slightly slanted shape. He has spiky black hair with blue outlining and white streaks. His skin complexion is reminiscent of a peachy tan. He considers himself "fashionable" and usually prefers to dress entirely in black. Normally, he wears a long black cloak-like jacket (with a white collar) and black pants tucked into black boots. Underneath this cloak he usually sports a pale blue sleeveless undershirt, as well as a white belt around his waist that not only assists with keeping his pants snug on him, but also hold slots in which items and other equipment can be held. Adorning the entire length of his right arm is a tattoo of a black dragon. Despite this being his usual attire, he will often change clothing or wear whatever he feels like during any given point in time depending on situation. These clothing decisions are made simply on his whim.

[attr="class","skinny_content"]
Linedwell was born into a wealthy and once prestigious family that had been well known around the South Blue for centuries. His mother had passed during childbirth and he had been left to be raised by his father. Linedwell's father, Aarne, took the loss hard, but he never once attributed his son's birth to the loss of his wife, and he did his best to raise his son into a man that she would be proud to call her own. The family that Linedwell had been born into had a reputation of being ruthless and valuing power above all else, so much so that it was rumored that they delved into the "dark arts" in order to obtain the power that they held - when in actuality the only power that was being used were the powers of Devil Fruits that the family had been able to amass due to their large fortune. It was a practice that Aarne had always been ashamed of. Not necessarily in the practice of Blood Magic, but in the pursuit of unnecessary power that in turn ended up corrupting all those that went in search of it. It was a path that Aarne had seen his own father go down, and it was a path that he would do all in his power to prevent his son from going down.
[break][break]
Though this was a admirable goal, within the realm of being a noble, power is something that naturally becomes sought after. The Rainrex family had learned this the hard way over 400 years ago when they became subservient to another noble family, known as the Claret's. Though it was illegal, warfare between families wasnt something that was unheard of, and it occured many times over thousands of years. This time, however, there was finally a clear victor. The Claret family had finally triumphed in this age old war.
[break][break]
The Rainrex's were then employed as the personal servants of the Claret family as punishment as well as to send a message to all other families of what could potentially happen to them.
[break][break]
Though Aarne was a man that held great pride in his Rainrex bloodline, he wasn't a man that would hold 400 year old grudges. In his years, he had learned that it was better to live on for the future and not to harbor the hatred of men that had long since died. He had seen his father harbor this hatred, and it had ultimately costed him his life. It was not a path that he wished to go down, and more than anything he needed to be an example to his son. Aarne doted on his son, and Linedwell looked up to his father and loved him, but there was something that his son was able to see that Aarne was not privy to.
[break][break]
All Linedwell could see from his father was inaction, and it was an inaction that he could not understand. While growing up his father would always train him in the arts of hand to hand combat just in case anything happened he would be prepared to defend himself, even going so far as to teach Linedwell about Devil Fruits, their types, and even ways of potentially fighting those who did use them.
[break][break]
Linedwell had always seen firsthand just how powerful and skilled his father was, and had always been in awe of his prowess...but this soon caused confusion for the boy. In knowing just how powerful his father was, how could his own father take a knee to those that had slaughtered their family long ago? How could his father serve the people that killed his own father? Why had he not yet taken his his abilities to these fools and slain them all? Did he carry no shame in bending his knee in such a way? Maybe he had something planned and Linedwell had just not been privy to it? Yes, that had to be it. Linedwell had always began to assume that his father would one day show these fools just how weak they truly were....and that day never came. This slowly but surely instilled a deep seated hatred in Linedwell's heart for the Claret's, as well as disappointment in his father. To see such a strong man be so weak was sickening. Though he would always love his father, he knew he needed to travel down another path. He could never be the same as the man he called his father.
[break][break]
As the years went by things changed within the structure of the Claret family line. The "King and Queen" of the Claret bloodline had perished due to natural causes, and soon the estate as well as the title of the head of the Claret family had been handed over to their daughter, Valasca. She was a woman that was three years older than Linedwell. Valasca and Linedwell had been great friends as children. Valasca never truly had any friends that she could call her own, and as a child, friendships are a way to build social skills. As such, the "King" decreed that Linedwell would be her playmate, something that Linedwell, as a child, was unaware of. He merely thought of Valasca as a friend, and Valasca thought the same of him. As the two grew, they began to drift apart. Valasca was one that still considered Linedwell to be her best friend, yet Linedwell had replaced the friendship that he held in his heart for Valasca with contempt and anger. To Linedwell, she was the cause of all the dishonor and shame that had been placed on his family.
[break][break]
Once Linedwell reached the age of 13, he requested from Valasca that he be released from his bonds of servitude in order explore the world. Linedwell realized over the years that as he was, he'd never be able to match up against Valasca. Though only three years his senior, she had surpassed him leaps and bounds in multiple forms of combat, especially in the arts of both swordsmanship and marksmanship - categories of combat that they'd both trained intensely in. The thought of serving the Claret's for the rest of his life was something that had always caused Linedwell's blood to boil and caused an anger that he knew he would not be able control if he were to stay. He decided it was for the best if he left, though he had no intentions of abandoning his father. He'd be back soon enough, and through the use of the power he'd obtain during his experiences on the outside. He'd break his father free of the shackles of the servitude. Valasca agreed to this. She hadn't realized the ulterior motive behind all of this and she wished her friend farewell, yet Linedwell merely left without a word.
[break][break]
Within a week of escaping his bondage, Linedwell found himself joining the ranks of the Revolutionaries. Though an organization like this didn't necessarily hold all of the values that he personally held, his goal was to make use of this their cause in order to further his own. The Claret's are nobles that have the full backing of the World Government - thus, should the World Government begin to crumble, so to would support they've been lending the Clarets. Petty? Sure. However, this was all a means to an end. The combat experience he was also soaking up as a result of joining their ranks was also extremely beneficial. As of today, he's spent a full year within their ranks and he hopes soon he'll hold the strength he needs to finally avenge his disgraced family.
