[attr="class","afir4"] As always, Bedivere made for such a wonderful distraction. Most of the aggression quickly turned to her when she quickly established that she was the bigger –metaphorically speaking- and more dangerous threat when she started rushing through like an overzealous bull or rhino. They tried pelting her with spears, swords, and arrows but all of those just broke against her blackened skin and those who stood directly in her way were clobbered in their shock.
Miguel, not one to miss out on an opportunity, kept following from a slight distance behind her, slashing and stabbing at those stragglers who were still conscious after being clocked by a hardened fist and covered splinters. He had to move a bit ways back to not also be covered in splinters and the occasional splatter of blood from particularly hard hits from her rifle.
However, he wasn’t the swiftest person in the world so he himself was forced to also use his Armament Haki from time to time to block strikes from spears or blades. Whatever they made those weapons of, it definitely wasn’t steel –the strange burnished brownish orange color was a giveaway- that snapped even under his own Haki’s dark shielding, despite not being as tough. The sight was demoralizing enough that after what seemed like a long time –maybe only a few minutes in real time- the living survivors decided to stop and start running in the other direction instead.
Well, fuck. He certainly can’t let them get away. “Don’t let them escape, ‘Vere! And keep at least one of them alive, preferably one that can speak our language!” He shouted as he tripped two of the ones nearer him by grabbing a broken spear and sweeping their feet off of the ground after reinforcing the thing, followed by slamming it into the back of their heads to knock them out.

[googlefont="Euphoria Script:400"] kill [googlefont="Roboto"][attr="id","tag"] | Don't let them escape? What was she, a warden? But that was the price to pay for this kind of situation. She strained her legs to keep up with some of the quicker folk, but with effort she had gained ahead of the trio trying to flee from the ambush. Bedivere gave the lead the best greeting she could muster - a rock-solid headbutt, giving away to a crunch even without any haki in use. The second's fight or flight kicked in and he made to stab her; a cut across her unprotected forearm, but it gave a lovely thrill as she used the knocked out body of mister one to slam into mister two. Where was the third native, thoug- oh, there he was, resuming the escape. Well, Bedivere was no crack shot, but when you were aiming to halt instead of kill you didn't exactly need precise aim. Her pistol was pulled up and with a loud shot, the man fell over with a new thigh wound. As she slowly walked over to retrieve the man who had been shot - he was clawing at the dirt to get away - she called out, "Oy, I've got one over heeeeeeeeere." A thud of her boot into the guy's back to keep him from squirming away. Hopefully any style of interrogation wouldn't take too long. --- MIGUEL HIDALGO LIGHT |

[attr="class","afir4"] He took care of the remaining stragglers closer to him with daggers to the back of their heads (more merciful and easier to do than daggers to the spine when thrown, he’d heard as it was easier to get away with off aim, and he wasn’t about to waste poison or throwing his sword on this), killing them. He probably should have kept them alive as well… but alas, it was harder to keep track of multiple people and he had gotten caught in the heat of the moment.
Upon looking up, Miguel saw that Bedivere was starting on ahead to chase after the others. He decided not to follow for the moment, instead gathering around the dead bodies and arranging them to hide them in the bushes and trying not to let too much of the blood show. If everything goes well, maybe he and Bedivere could loot these suckers later for some pocket change. He didn’t even look up when he heard gunshots because those were probably from Bedivere’s gun.
Once he was done, he heard the sounds of someone coming back and the even more obvious sounds of someone desperately trying to flee. Looking up, his lips quirked up in amusement when he saw that Bedivere had come back with a victim in her clutches.
“Wonderful.” He remarked with a light smile as he pulled out one of his daggers, teeth almost shark-like. ”You and I are going to play a little game. You answer my questions, and if I think you’re answering them truthfully you’ll stay unharmed. But if you don’t…? Well, you’ll just have to lose a finger or two for each one you answered wrong. And if you show hints of disrespect, well….” The knife spun around his fingers expertly.
”Do you really want to know?” Miguel cheerfully asked as he stabbed the man’s hand down to the ground, prompting a scream. ”That’s just the beginning.”

[googlefont="Euphoria Script:400"] kill [googlefont="Roboto"][attr="id","tag"] | She gave the boss man his space for his messy interview. She had no taste for these kinds of scenes; torture wasn't her thing at all. Instead, she went to going about all the bodies and trying to find something of use. None of them had any money she could make use of. None of them even had decent weapons! She picked up a dagger or two - maybe it was a spear tip, but it would function just the same. The only thing of real note was one of those nice spears; sturdy, cut into a tree nicely, and fit her grip. She used one of these punk's shirts to tie up some of the rough spots and give her a grip on it. She spent the next few moments goofing off with the spear, checking its weight and reach. It would do for first contact; it could even be thrown hard enough, and might do better as a ranged implement than her sword. Might. She knew she couldn't goof off too long, though. Bedivere made her way around the small perimeter back to her captain to see if he had gotten what he wanted. --- MIGUEL HIDALGO LIGHT |

[attr="class","afir4"] It took a while and liberal application of his knife during his torture process, but he managed to gain satisfactory information and managed to enjoy himself with his victim. Needless to say, his victim was left bloody and dead by the time he was done with him as he didn’t need any loose ends. That he wasn’t going to live long after all the damage he did to him.
Still, that dagger of his was looking a little blunt so he took the man’s… bronze? Brass? Whatever, it looked like a machete and if it wasn’t hard enough normally he could make it hard enough. That and whatever else looked valuable and shiny on the man before he chopped up the body as best he could –even putting some haki in the machete to make the work easier- and spreading it around before finishing his work and then cleaning up the blades.
He then looked up as he heard loud footsteps, only to relax when he saw Bedivere. ”Ah, there you are. I got the information I wanted from him.” He spoke up, not at all bothered by the fact that his arms were covered in blood… but strangely enough his clothes didn’t have much on it. ”Got the location of their village and their treasure stash, as well as where they’re guarding the fruit. Apparently they’re going to waste the thing by burning it as a sacrifice to their gods or something else equally as stupid. But more importantly… we weren’t the only ones they found as intruders on the island.”
He shrugged at that as he began to walk after taking clean-ish looking cloth from one of the dead men. ”Come on, let’s go. The village is still a bit ways off, but he gave me markers and we should see large and obvious smoke pillars from the celebration soon or something. Hopefully they have a river nearby so that I can wash the blood off and not look like a crazed killer or give hunting dogs something easier to smell when we get there. I’ll tell you more as we walk.”

[attr="class","afir4"] After a while of walking, Miguel and Bedivere finally got within sight of the village with surprisingly no more encounters of traps or ambushes. In fact, it got quieter and quieter as they got closer – an ominous thing to note but nothing that was bothering him too much as of yet. Still, it enabled them to get their breath back after that encounter. Heck, on the way there was a river that he was able to wash his arms and weapons in, so that he didn’t look like a psychotic killer or a madman with the blood on his arms. He was even able to use the pause to get splinters out of both of them before they continued onwards.
But then… there was something horribly wrong. The sky above the village was dark with smoke and tinted orange, and there were orange blazes about in more than just a few places. Actually, were those roofs and whatnot beginning to catch ablaze with the smell of blood and smoke and the sound of faint screams and sounds on the breeze? What the hell?
Upon moving closer, he saw that there was apparently a commotion happening – people were running, fighting, shooting, and…. putting bodies in nets? Why, some were even fighting over a large cooking pit and trying to commandeer the cooking area. What in the world was going on?
Miguel furrowed his brows at the sight. He was tempted to just leave but the quarry was here and he certainly couldn’t leave it after all they’ve put the effort it. Putting a finger on his lips, he gestured for Bedivere to remain quiet for the moment and then mouthed ‘be sneaky’ before going to sneak off to investigate just what the hell was going on in here… and if they could abscond with what they needed without attracting the attention of either party.

"Ehhh, we haven't found the fruit yet and none of them know where it is." The bounce of a bosom was placed upon the head of a corpse. A pinkette, sighing, cried aloud of how sad she seemed due to apparently not finding a fruit. "The Cap'n's gonna kill me. This is so unfair, and after I went out of my way to get all dolled up for the celebration of what we've been in search of. This just won't do, won't do at all!" Snugging the corpse as if it were a pillow, she'd let out a cry even more. "This is so unfair!" The waterworks sprouted even further as a wailing cry resonated from the woman.
"Oh well!" Tossing the corpse to the side and fixing her eyewear. The woman would then release a laughter of purity, yet sinister inquires behind them. "I'm sure we'll find it. Even if I'm not the one to come across the fruit first, then I'm sure the others may just have done so! I'm ready to leave this low-class hellhole already." the pinkette would state. A grasp of her came to rest atop of the back of her hand, flipping it all the while as she would let out a low sigh of annoyance. "I'm so over this place." She wasn't aware to the fact that there intruders roaming about. But regardless, had they seen her, they would notice a strange cloud of pink fumes emerging from the pores of her skin.
These fumes could be found all throughout the village for it was her perfume causing the villagers to act like savages. Those who inhaled it were unable to tell friend from foe, only the one they are in love with. They were all under her control: man, woman, and even child. Some were forced to find the fruit for her, others to kill those who did not fall under her control for many possessed quite the strong willpower. "Oh?" It wasn't until three men under her control came to raise their spears and shields. They believed were believed to have discovered an assailant hiding within the shadows that she wasn't aware of.
How they found the duo? It was by their haki. The villagers had quite the hunters in their arsenal. "It's best you come out now or be prepared to meet your end swiftly my dearies. I'm not much of a fan when it comes to rats, so please do show yourselves. I rather not sully myself anymore than I already have with my presence just being upon this island!" The pinkette exclaimed.

[googlefont="Euphoria Script:400"] kill [googlefont="Roboto"][attr="id","tag"] | Silence is golden, but Bedivere wasn't very good at that. The trek here had taken long enough, and now they had to deal with this damaged village and some more crazy kooks. Her eyes weren't quite as good as that old songbird, but he gave her the order to rip and wrap around her face - she tore off a chunk of her sleeves and wrapped it around her mouth and nose. It still felt wet from that forced bath they had to try and clean up, which was unfortunate - she actually liked wearing all of the blood, made her felt like she had put in her share of the work. Not like that would do anything about how ugly that pink smog looked. Bedivere rattled in place, waiting for some kind of sign to go, when someone started shouting over at them - it was the pink one. Rats, really? Couldn't come up with something better than rats? "Captain, I got the three, aye?" A toothy grin and both of her hands going for a rifle, she gave it to the count of three before taking a nice strong jump to the right and forward, guns up and firing two shots at the trio of armed villagers. "Come on, come on! Spears and shields, that all you got?" She laughed but tried to keep everything in front of her and her field of view as she landed and moved forward to close the distance with the three. They shouldn't be too hard, she figured; the real threat was the smog monster back there, and she wasn't exactly built to deal with gas or fruitheads. Hopefully her captain could think of something on that front... --- MIGUEL HIDALGO LIGHT phew holidays kicked my ass also i see you, tamamo-vicchi |

[attr="class","afir4"] Upon getting closer, Miguel almost perked up when he saw the pretty face. Almost, because then he saw ominous-looking pink clouds coming from her as well as the strange rioting that was going on and she was radiating flippant valley girl crazy on levels even he was uncomfortable with… and that was saying something considering what he was willing to tolerate for a pretty face. He wasn’t quite sure what the pink clouds were doing but he knew that it wasn’t anything good by a long shot.
Still, it was a tad alarming to hear that they were also looking for the fruit. Dr. Robotnik wasn’t wrong about that after all, it seemed, and it looked like they were about to meet the pirates (because this definitely isn’t normal Marine or noble modus operandi and bounty hunters tended to not have crews to help them with hunting.
With that all in mind, he silently signaled to Bedivere to cover the lower half of her face with a wet cloth while he did the same, not wanting to chance those clouds or even the smog. That wasn’t the kind of smoke he’d like to inhale… nor did he even like to inhale odd gases like that – they might mess with his voice. Once that was done they closed in further….
…up until they were spotted somehow. Probably Haki, goddamn it. Tsk. And with such lame insults too – she needed lessons on insults.
Upon hearing Bedivere’s request, he glanced to her and nodded with an amused smirk on his face and let her wreak havoc. He himself pulled out his pistol as he moved over quietly to a different position to get a better vantage of her while Bedivere took their attention. Once he was sure that he got a fairly good shot while still being hidden amongst the buildings, he took a shot at her head to see if it would be effective at all. [googlefont="Euphoria Script:400"] kill [googlefont="Roboto"][attr="id","tag"] | A spear slammed into her rifle and the wood cracked under the pressure; these guys weren't like the ones they encountered out in the jungle, they had a bit more experience and power behind their attacks. That was good; it brought a grin to Bedi's face. The rifle would be no good to her if she couldn't reliable fire it, so she turned it to push the spear away from her core and then threw it at the second hunter that was aiming to get her. The moment she bought herself was enough to coat one of her hands in haki and slug the spearman, but not enough time to avoid catching a shield slam to her own face. Even blocking it with her arm she still felt the shaking in her head as she rolled, trying to pop up immediately. She was going to need to be a bit faster than she was, so it was time to bust out something she hadn't done in a long while. A deep breath and a focus before taking a running step; there was then a loud grinding sound as it looked like her feet sliced into the ground and ripped up the soil as she rocketed forward. Her own feet had become like blades, churning forward to propel her. Friction Score! Now she was able to really slug the shieldbearer, and even if she didn't connect with flesh she still felt the force of her blow as much as she felt it in her own arms. But where the heck was her captain and was he taking care of the witchy lady? --- MIGUEL HIDALGO LIGHT sorry if i'm not supposed to skip light but waiting sux |
