Selima's earliest memories are of captivity - a too small cage and a chokingly tight pink leather collar. Sold as an "exotic pet," she passed from one owner to the next. Some were better than other's, but it wasn't long before the harsh words and physical "discipline" turned her nearly feral with rage. Due to her temperament, she was eventually deemed "unsellable" and sold cheaply to a man who called himself "The Collector". There she lived for years - caged, but otherwise relatively well-treated - an exhibit for people to pay to view.[break][break]
After twelve total years of captivity, Selima was freed when a handful of Cipher Pol agents infiltrated The Collector's "Zoo" - it turns out he'd also gotten his hands on some human of royal birth which had finally prompted the World Government to act. Cipher Pol had been sent in only to retrieve the royal and free the other captives, but one agent took pity on the young Mink. [break][break]
She was trained under the agent, who recognized how Selima's physiology made her a perfect candidate to join the Marines. Outside of captivity she thrived, freedom helping to soften her feral nature and intensive training helping to polish her skills. At the age of fourteen, she officially joined the ranks of the Marines as a chore girl. [break][break]
Since then she had been steadily working her way up the ranks. Currently, she is a Lieutenant, but she's got aspirations of eventually being promoted into Cipher Pol, the organization that saved her life. Despite her dark beginnings, Selima is as happy as can be.
