[attr="class","bsmain"] [attr="class","bsbody"] A voice croaked with elderly wisdom. "This is a fine blade ya got here." It belonged to a man named Goro, a fabled swordsmith who some argued was the finest in the known world. He'd eluded the attention that fame brought by tucking himself away in a whistle-stop community somewhere in the East Blue. Swordsmen privy were known to travel there to test their mettle, but it was far from a heralded land. It's streets were quiet during the day. Every now and then you could hear a blademaster's students working diligently in their dojo, striking their mokujin and shouting their kiai, but Goro's forge was far enough to keep the bustle at bay. "And you want me to do what with it?" Goro asked. "Modify it." A heap of metal fashions spilled from William's hands onto the counter, parts of a disassembled firearm, that clinked and clanked once they fell. Goro gave them a look, unimpressed, then went back to the blade. "And why would you want to do that? This blade is already of high quality, some would say perfect.""Well I'm not them." William barked, then sighed. He realized angering Goro would get him nowhere. "The blade is made for a samurai.""And you are not a samurai." Goro finished. "Then tell me, why do you have a weapon as fine as this?" A look of suspicion crossed his face. "Look. It's a long story. Are you gonna help me or—""Or you stole it." Goro accused. His arms folded across his chest. William formed fists and slammed them onto the old man's counter. "Are you kidding me?! You got no idea the amount'a shit I had'ta go through to get this damn thing!""I'm listening." Goro smiled, then moved to a stove a few steps away. He rummaged around, from cabinet to cabinet, to fetch the herbs and water he needed to brew a kettle of tea. "Well at least brew enough for two. It's gonna be a while." William sighed. [attr="class","bsmain"] [attr="class","bsbody"] "There it is." The ferryman said with relief, his outstretched hand pointed over the bow of the ship. "Snake Island." William and his for-hire crew had been at sea for several days in search of the mysterious island. He was beginning to doubt it even existed, so to see it with his own eyes was a blessing in itself. The lagoon leading to the mainland was surrounded by mountains that acted as a fortress, and the seamounts below reached higher and higher as water levels dropped. They reached out from the water's surface in blades and spikes that could tear through a vessel's hull like paper. William approached the ferryman, who was already slowing his ship's approach, and dropped a sack of berri at his feet. "Have your crew prepare a dinghy."The ferryman took up the sack and examined it with a couple tosses of the hand, his brow raised. "Feel's a little light." William paid him no mind and gathered his belongings— Squallwalker, the sword with a pistol's hilt and trigger, and his black leather duster— throwing it over his shoulder after holstering Squallwalker on his hip. "That's half now." He replied, approaching the side of the ship. "You'll get the rest when I'm off this damn island and back in Water 7.""That wasn't part of the deal!" The captain stomped. A twitch took William's eye before he turned to meet the ferryman until they were nose to nose. "It is now. Unless you wanna make other arrangements." One of William's hands crept to Squallwalker's hilt where his fingers ambled with anticipation. The captain looked down and swallowed his pride in an audible gulp. "You've got twenty-four hours." He insisted then signaled his crewmen to fulfill William's request. "Any longer and we're heading home.""Sounds good," William said then returned to the gunwale where his dinghy waited. "But it'll be a bad day if'n I find ya— and I'll find ya." He looked back to underline his threat and smiled. The ferryman let out a nervous titter before he saw William lowered into the chopping waters of Snake Island. "Drop the anchor! We're stayin' overnight!" He yelled to the nearest crewman, then moaned. "And bring me some god damn rum."
The way to Snake Island was as treacherous as it was beautiful. The half moon entrance formed a natural archway of stony ridges covered in dark wood forests. The tree canopies cast shade on the canal leading to the island's mainland, which cloaked the biting rocks below. They were hard to see, even at high noon, and the waters were littered with them. William passed by with caution, his eyes too keen on the dark waters, and all the way he saw the remnants of ships lulled into the straight forward passage. The flags of crews long gone missing, the eroded wood of their ships and the bones of their men floated along the hapless path. He acknowledged them in silence, but vowed to never share their fate. In the distance the waters opened up and let the sunlight in. The surface mirrored the day's sky so well that a man drunk might have confused one for the other. When he finally cleared the canal and reached the lagoon William looked down into the clear waters. From his dinghy he could see for miles he felt. Schools of fish weaved through bright corals, no doubt sensing his presence, and ship scraps were wedged here and there. They reminded him that even though he'd navigated the canal, he was still far from safe. The sea floor rose ahead and Snake Island's sandy shore was slow approaching. [attr="class","bsmain"] [attr="class","bsbody"] William pulled his dinghy onto Snake Island's shore and fastened it to a nearby sapling. He looked into the untouched forest ahead and took in a deep breath. After such a long journey he'd only just begun, and he wanted nothing less than to stay longer than he needed to. The ferryman's time limit was also working against him so, instead of resting, he ventured forward into the foliage. Moving further, the land eventually turned to marsh. The wetlands gripped at his feet with every step he took, plodding deeper into unknown territory. The forest thick became an asset after a while. There were times where he would step and feel as though he'd fall through the ground, only to find safety in an arbitrary branch. He used them as anchors to hold and free himself from the pulling floor, and as markers to track his progress. He'd unholstered Squallwalker sometime during his trek and used it to clear his path, and every now and then he would shave the sides of the trees he passed as insurance if he lost his way. Snake Island's forest wasn't an East Blue brothel but there was something magical about it. The tree canopies let in beams of honey orange sun that highlighted things he'd often seen but never appreciated. Exotic mushrooms grew in packs against the mossy sides of dead wood, their colors varied from tree to tree, and vines formed bridges high over his head and gave way to animals that knew the land. William pressed forward, knowing it was a dangerous place despite it's beauty, and noticed the ground begin to harden on his path. He cut through several swathes of copse and thicket that brought him to a clearing. The forest canopy blocked all the light in the area save a spotlight over a hollow tree stump. The wild grass around it was low and fertile with mushrooms, as was the base and lip of the long dead tree. William moved closer to it and discovered it had become a basin of rain water, clear enough to see through to the bottom. He stuck his hand into the cool water and scooped some of it into his mouth, swishing it to and fro to stave off the dryness he hadn't noticed set in. Aaaaah. It wasn't whiskey but it was damn refreshing. William reached into his duster and pulled out an empty flask set inside the basin. The cold water was heaven compared to the soupy forest air, and once his canteen was filled he took of his hat and dipped his whole head into the cleansing water. The dead wood basin would be his resting point for a time. William sat with his back against it, shaving Squallwalker's edge with a whet he'd brought along for the trip, but an audible crack in the distance forced him to stop. Hm? He listened closer and heard another crack in the distance. They were footsteps, but what kind? He'd seen many a creature along the way but nothing that posed a threat. These footsteps were big. William slowly rose to his feet and discarded his whet, with Squallwalker in hand as a provision. The path leading up to the dead wood basin had an opposite path that led away from it and toward the mysterious cracking. He could either circumvent the path and cut through more forest or confront what he'd heard. I can't waste anymore time. He thought, putting the safer to choice to rest, and ventured forward along the clearing toward the questionable crackling. [attr="class","bsmain"] [attr="class","bsbody"] William moved with caution out of the forest clearing, down the path leading to the suspicious sounds. The footsteps he heard earlier became more pronounced, but the soft rumble of a male voice put him on edge. I'm not the only one here? He was sure there were no ships other anchored or beached when he arrived. Given how remote the island was, it would have been a flagrant sight. Unless they didn't want to be seen."No sign of 'em here." A strong voice proclaimed. "Perhaps our intelligence was incorrect." Another voice replied, soft and magniloquent. "Someone's coming." The last voice said plainly. An eerie silence set in thereafter. They were waiting on him whoever they were. No sense sneaking now. William let out a small sigh and picked up his gait along the path. It lead to another forest clearing where an incredible ship stood. Instead of sails large bladed wheels sprouted from it's masts and a similar one rested on it's stern. How it managed to get so far inland was a mystery he'd no time to explore as, in the distance, three men approached with their eyes set on William. They all were sharp dressed in tailored suits with all the minutiae and attention to detail of a World Government official. William presumed it to be true, and held his ground with Squallwalker in hand. They each shared coherent qualities that made them favor one another— like short brown hair, clean shaven faces, and granite jawlines— but their subtle differences stood out more than anything. "So, you finally decied to stop cowering and come out?" One man barked, the largest of them all. He stood at least a head over his two accomplices and looked as wide as both of them combined. "It's been quite an endeavor attempting to locate you and your cohorts." The shortest one smiled, more relaxed than the other two. "Do us a favor and be cooperative. This is a battle you won't win, Revolutionary." Said the remaining man. He was of middling height and had a distinct glare that never went away. "We've already found the weapon."William readied his sword and each man stopped, never taking their eyes off of him. Tensions rose so high that the entire forest froze, even the trees, whose leaves and branches never sat still seemed to resist the pull of the wind. "Is'at right?" William said, his brow raised. He didn't know what the man meant but played along regardless. "And you been lookin' for lil' ol' me?" He smirked. "I'm flattered.""Indeed it is," replied the short man. "And with it we will bring a righteous end to your insurgency."The largest man stepped forward. "No one's met CP3 and lived to tell about it.""We're to take him alive and find the remaining general." The stern man interjected, then folded his arms across his chest. "The question is which one are you?""Spider." William lied. His clothes, all black, would support the claim as most Revolutionaries knew him as Black Spider. "Who's asking?""Andrew James," said the largest with pride. "Basil James," the shortest grinned. "Charles James," the last one said bluntly. "The Cochranes. Cipher Pol 3 if you prefer, and now that introductions are over— surrender." "And why in the world would I do that?" William stood tall and twirled Squallwalker on his finger. "Because we're not above murdering you if you resist." A.J. stomped. "It would be rather unfortunate to return with your head, yet with no extra intelligence." B.J. laughed. "And like I said before, the artifact is already in our possession. You've lost and soon society as you know it will change. You should come to terms with that now rather than later. Comply with dignity and we'll ensure you a chance to appeal for amnesty." C.J. explained. His tempered steel eyes emoted a resolute truth that William had no choice to but accept. He gripped his hand tight to stop Squallwalker's ambling, pointed the blade at all three men, and shifted down the line to make his point clear to each of them. "To Hell with your amnesty, to Hell with your artifact, and to Hell with your change."Each Cochrane looked at one another to share their own version of disdain— A.J. furious, B.J. amused, and C.J. unbothered— then each man shot forward without warning. [attr="class","bsmain"] [attr="class","bsbody"] Confident, William stepped forward and traced the brim of his hat with a single finger. The brim symbolized each brother's head on a chopping block; his finger, the blade of a guillotine. He might have appeared aloof, arrogant even, but he made sure to study The Cochranes closely while they moved. He noticed A.J. (the largest of them) was fittingly the slowest. B.J. (the smallest) was the lightest on his feet, and C.J. moved at a middling speed amidst his two brothers. In a mad dash, William set forth toward the three who remained in an offset line that didn't match their speeds. The fastest lingered back, the slowest lead the charge, and the remaining brother floated between the two. That put William and the muscle-bound Cochrane on a crash course toward one another. He counted the seconds until the moment to strike arose— and when it did he lashed out with Squallwalker's sharp edge. It found a place against the side of A.J. Cochranes neck and was a killing blow by any measure, but an uneasy feeling swelled in the pit of William's stomach once it hit. He knew something was wrong and looked to A.J. who he found, looking back at him, unfazed with a knowing smile. A.J.'s body had rebuked the blade like steel meeting steel. "Tekkai," he growled, then coiled his powerful arms around William. It stuck them together like iron shackles and A.J. lept into the air with William in tow. A.J. pushed off the air itself to bring them higher. They rose so high that the other Cochranes disappeared beneath the forest canopy and, in an instant, the two were upside down plummeting back toward the ground. "Geppo!"An outstanding mountain ridge came between them on the way down and collapsed into rubble against the impact. Jagged rock wrapped around their bodies and chewed on their skin and muscles, like thousands of stony teeth, until the mountain broke apart and spit them back into the forest. Even then they fell at break neck speed— their bodies cut through unforgiving nets of old wood branches— until they finally lost momentum by colliding with the island floor. With enough force to split the ground, a massive crater formed where they landed and from the eruption A.J. Cochrane rose, unfazed and with triumph in his eyes. "Ididididid," he laughed, then yelled back to his brothers off in the distance. "Easy as crushin' a bug! No wonder they have such stupid nicknam—!""Interestin' skill you got there." William interrupted. He was only now climbing out of the crater, equally unfazed. "Tech Eye, was it?"The Cochrane brute's eyes popped in disbelief. "How?!""I just did what you did," William shrugged then dusted himself off. "It's simple really. Can't believe I hadn't tried it before."A.J. ground his teeth in frustration. "It takes years of diligent training to even begin to understand how Tekkai works!" William sighed, unconvinced. "Maybe you just ain't that good?"A.J. dashed forward in a frenzy. "I'LL KILL YOU!" William recalled A.J.'s once knowing smile and gave one of his own. "Stay back!" A voice called that brought the massive Cochrane to a screeching halt. C.J. Cochrane soon appeared from behind his brother. He'd overheard their conversation and was now studying William more closely than before. "Not as thick as yer brother I see.""No." C.J. replied. "And neither are you it seems." Noticeably on edge, A.J. Cochrane turned to his brother and scowled. "That was a fluke! I can squash this asshole no problem!""I'm sure you could," C.J. suggested without taking his eyes off William. "But not that way." C.J. stepped past his brother to examine William. "There's something I have to take care of. Finish the job, he said to A.J. "And try not to be so careless."Meanwhile, William darted to cut C.J. off with Squallwalker drawn back to strike. "But you just got here." He brought the sword down in a heavy slash meant to cleave him two, but was intercepted by the Cochrane brute, A.J. "Tekkai." The blade clanged against his skin and lost all it's impetus, and when William searched for C.J. he was nowhere to be found. A.J. Cochrane, once again, reached out to grapple William but was forced backward by a shoving front kick. "You must think you're tough shit." A.J. grunted to William's satisfaction. He smiled. "Tougher'n you, I've learned. Better lookin' too, and smarte—"Suddenly William felt a sharp pain pass through his right leg, like a gun shot. He fell to a knee and soon felt another pass through his shoulder which forced him to drop his weapon. "Pasusususu." B.J. Cochrane laughed from behind, a smug grin stretched across his face. "Tobu Shigan."William looked back and found the youngest Cochrane standing across the schism with his hand outstretched like a pistol. "Bastard. What'd you do to me?""We've trained our bodies to such an extent that armaments are unnecessary. We are the weapons," B.J. hissed. "I believe you've discovered what my brother represents.""The armor," William thought to himself. "Yeah. So what are you? The gun?""A man of intellect! I can appreciate that," B.J. gleamed, a hint of sarcasm in tone. "Well, gun, go on'n shoot," William implored. B.J. Cochrane wagged his finger to deny him. "Ah, ah, aaaah. According to Charles James you, my friend, are a very quick learner. Besides," he pointed past William. "Alexander James appears quite eager to deal with you himself."William turned around in time to catch A.J. Cochrane's fist with his face. "Soru," B.J. hummed then disappeared. His voice became a faint echo. [attr="class","bsmain"] [attr="class","bsbody"] William sat up. Ahead stood A.J. Cochrane who looked less impressed with himself and more focused than before. He wouldn't allow William the chance to gather himself and vaulted into the air. "Geppo! Tekkai!" Like a cannonball he shot at William, who quickly rolled out of harm's way and to his feet. In the distance he saw his sword and rushed toward it while A.J. reset himself, but as he reached for it a bullet-like projectile knocked it out of his grasp. "Geppo! Tekkai!""Shit!" William was forced to evade once more as A.J. Cochrane barreled toward him. "I gotta find'at pretty boy first." He had a plan, and went for Squallwalker yet again. Another projectile struck it out of the way, only this time he made sure to watch where it came from. William sprung into the air and kicked against the our out of instinct. "Geppo," he yelled, and incredibly propelled further into the air. Tufts of wind blew out beneath his feet as he vaulted higher and higher, until the forest canopy was beneath him. Just as A.J. Cochrane had before, William cruised through the air in powerful strides until he spotted B.J. Cochrane hiding within the forest thick. William gave a strong push off the air and set off to crash into him with rigid power, emulating A.J. Cochrane, when the agile Cochrane looked up at him— and smiled. "Soru."William's body burrowed into the ground like a spade having missed the target. He scrambled back up to ready himself, and when he did, B.J. Cochrane was already in front of him. "Shigan."A finger pierced through William's flesh like a bullet, smooth and precise, but B.J. wasn't finished. "Oren!" His strikes came in droves and stamped William's body with hundreds of open wounds. What surprised him the most was the feeling, or lack thereof. It wasn't until B.J. stepped away that the numbness subsided and every spot he touched surged with painful fire. William fought hard to stay whole as his vision blurred and his mind broke free from his body, but he had no control. He saw himself fall lifeless at a distance, until his husk hit the ground and everything went red. [attr="class","bsmain"] [attr="class","bsbody"] Am I going to die, William asked himself. "You are if you don't get your ass up," a familiar voice replied. William knew who it belonged to. The thought seemed to make him to appear, a brave man with piercing blue eyes like William's own. In fact, they favored each other almost exactly, but this man's hair was dark where William's was fair. "Fuck off, old man," William said and rolled over to his side like a boy in bed. "Pick a fight with me later," the man said. "Now's not the time to lie around.""And why should I listen to a traitor like you," William bit back. The man went cold with a sigh, his stern eyes filled with sadness. "You hate me that much, huh?" He seemed to recover and smirked like William would in a similar circumstance. "Is that why you're pretending to be someone you're not? What's with the get up? And blue contacts, too. You really know how to make your fa—""I SAID FUCK OFF!""Why don't you get up and do something about it," the man said. His smirk went away in exchange for a look of contempt "I know why. Because you'd rather lay down and do nothing than accept the truth. You're too weak to kill me yourself. Go ahead then. Lay there. I don't care."The words seemed to bring back old feelings, like pain, that coursed through his body like molten iron. "I want nothing more than to see your rotten corpse in a cemetery," William protested in both realms— the red world and the real one— and in both he rose to his feet. "Is that so," the man said. "Then allow me to knock you down a peg. Soru!" He kicked off the ground ten times and dashed at William with a sword in hand, then aimed it's steel cusp at him. "Shigan!"With no sword of his own William drew back his fist and filled it with his vast hatred. It was foolish of him to strike out with his bare hand, but he didn't give it a second thought and let his power soar through the air to challenge it head on. And when the two forces came together William saw the weapon drawn against him wither into a contorted heap and it's wielder, the man he hated so much, wailed in a voice that wasn't his own. Suddenly, William was knocked out of the red world and back into the real one, where he found B.J. Cochrane lying on the ground; his hand a mangled mess. "A... am I going to die," B.J. asked. William stumbled over to B.J., badly injured but alive nonetheless, and stood over him. "Yeah," he sighed. "I'm sorry you got dragged into this, kid."B.J. looked up at William, surprised by his sentiment, then back to his hand. "I'm afraid," he whimpered. "Can you make it painless?""Sure," William nodded. Then he smiled. "I figured out that technique of yours. It's impressive. I'll use that one on you.""What's your name," B.J. asked out of nowhere. William paused, unsure of how to answer at first, then tensed his fingers to initiate Shigan. "Gol. D. Lac.""Thank you, Gol D. Lac," B.J. said. Tears filled his eyes before he closed them to mimic death's darkness. William struck him fast and true to make sure the transition between worlds was seamless for him. [attr="class","bsmain"] [attr="class","bsbody"] It never was hard for him to kill a man, especially when justice called for it, but something about killing Basil James didn't sit right with William. He looked down at his blood soiled hand and, for the first time, doubted his reason for fighting. How were the unwitting conscripts of this war any different from the people he sought to protect? Before he justified it by saying they made the choice to side with the Marines, but had they really? William looked down at B.J. Cochrane's lifeless body and wondered if he would have chosen a different path given the chance. Soon after a rumble came from the distance, and William knew he had another fight on his hands. "Stop hiding you coward," A.J. Cochrane yelled. "I'm over here," William replied with much less fervor than before. The Cochrane brute stepped out from the forest thick where he found William standing over the deceased B.J. Cochrane. "Basil," he mumbled. It was the only time William saw A.J. Cochrane show any sort of emotional weakness. He watched, silent, while A.J. lamented the death of his younger brother. His face burned bright red and he bit down fiercely to fight back his tears, but they fell anyway. "He didn't suffer," William said. Like A.J., it was a rare display of sincerity. "If that makes you feel any better.""Feel better," A.J. Cochrane growled. His heavy fists wound tight with anger. "NOT UNTIL I BREAK EVERY BONE IN YOUR BODY!" He set forth in a flash and took a hateful swing at William, one he managed to evade just in time. It crashed into the ground and took whatever was in the way down in an explosion of ruthless aggression. William used Geppo as a precaution, and took to the sky high enough to evade the destruction A.J. Cochrane had caused. The island itself crumbled beneath the weight of his punch and seawater surged in from the crater formed. The surrounding forest and everything near them fell into the rushing waters. William looked down in search of Squallwalker, but found A.J. Cochrane instead— rising fast and with fury in his eyes. There was no time to retreat when Alexander James burst forth and let off a flurry of strikes, each one more wrathful than the last. They took turns jabbing and kicking at one another, connecting and evading, then pushing against the air with Geppo to stay aloft. William knew he had to disengage if he meant to live. He was still severely injured thanks to B.J, but he had a plan and bided in the conflict until the moment came to put it in action. Every now and then he would kick off the air in the direction he suspected Squallwalker had fallen, until he saw it nearly submerged on a patch of dirt. To break free from the melee William met A.J.'s punch with one of his own. Their opposing force sent shockwaves throughout the island and through their bodies causing them to repel from one another. William deftly guided himself toward Squallwalker in the blowback and took it back into his possession. Like a predator possessed, A.J. Cochrane found William in no time and prepared to attack. "GEPPO! TEKKAI!"A weakness lied in the seconds it took to recompose yourself when using Tekkai in this sort of attack pattern. B.J. knew to exploit that weakness when facing William, no doubt through tried and true use against his brother. For every sword there was a shield. For every shield; a gun. William waited for the inevitable, for A.J. to barrel forth and smash into the ground where he stood. He charged every ounce of zeal he had into his sword arm and kicked off the ground to give A.J. passage to the ground. The giant stood to regain his faculties, and when he did William sliced the air with all his might— a finishing cut so powerful that the air abided it by sharpening itself. A.J. Cochrane never stood a chance against a "spider" like William, and everyone knew it except for him. "GYAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" [attr="class","bsmain"] [attr="class","bsbody"]Violent water still rose from Alexander James' crater. It tore at the land around William and the island fauna moved in thunderous packs in search of safety. "Fuck the relic," William swore aloud. He had to escape Snake Island before it took him with it. "Soru," he shouted then took off. He thought of Basil James as he said the words, and a fleeting moment gratitude passed that he hoped would somehow find him. Meanwhile, he watched the ancient isle succumb to the ocean's pull all around him. Woods that had been there for generations had a new place beneath the ocean surface, and before long Snake Island as a whole would be no more. William found some of the markings he made on his way and felt his hope restore. He pushed further, as hard as he could, until he broke out of the woods and onto the shore where his dinghy was beached. Trusting there was enough distance between him and A.J. Cochrane's crater, he fell to ground to catch his breath. "Going somewhere?"A chilling cold washed over William that matched the icy voice he heard behind him. William turned his head against the sand and found Charles James leaning against a tree. In his hand was a sword, one William couldn't help but fixate on. "You're here," he said. "That means you killed my brothers.""Yeah," William replied, still weak from all that had happened. "Good," was all Charles James said. The words made William sick to his stomach. "What the fuck do you mean good," he yelled. "Your brothers are dead!" "Yes, and finally out of the way. Now I'm one step closer toward obtaining a seat among the Gorosei." Charles James pushed off the tree and stepped toward William, his deranged expression never changing. "I have you to thank for that, Spider. Or was it William? Or Gol?"William pushed himself to a kneel and gripped Squallwalker tight, unsure of what to expect. "Who are you?""I'm an ambitious man not unlike yourself. When I see a ticket to ride, I take it," Charles James said dispassionately. Then he raised his sword and pointed the edge at William. "These are political maneuvers so please, don't take them to heart.""Your brothers died for you," William growled, gnashing his teeth. "And for that I owe you— two deaths— one clean and one dirty. Which one do you prefer? I'll make sure your brother gets his the next time we cross paths."William froze, his expression penitent, which told Charles James he'd struck a chord. "Oh, you didn't know. Egogogogogo," he laughed for the first time. "Your brother is a Marine. In fact, he's due for battle in a couple of weeks. The World Government is after the real weapon on Tiger Island. So are your commanders, who'll be taken captive and tried for their crimes while the rest of you are slaughtered like the ants you are."Everything he said took William by surprise. He wanted to speak but couldn't, and remained motionless before Charles James. Meanwhile, Snake Island's continued to plummet into the sea. The thundering sound of verdant forest and old stone twisting under the weight of the ocean grew nearer, which meant it was only a matter of time before the shore went as well. "It's a shame your leaders deserted you by sending you to this damned island," Charles James said then brought his sword down with a lame slash. "I would've enjoyed seeing you and your brother kill each other."William saw what little effort C.J. put into his cut, which didn't explain the pressure he felt against him as it descended. Through instinct alone he moved out of range while the weight of Charles James' sword stroke carried on, tearing apart everything in it's path for several miles. Sea water surged high into the air and powerful waves of threatening mist highlighted Charles James' power. Both he and William looked on until his attack found the vessel William had arrived on and tore it apart like it was nothing.
