Previously a chemist wrongfully arrested under false charges, the scientist found himself conscripted into the lesser known pirate crew, Hired Heroes, during a more than welcome jail break. As for now? He'll go where the winds (or his navigator) take him.[break][break]And no, he's not as old as he looks. (It's a side effect of self experimentation.)[break]
His mentor had once said, “A man with no enemies is an enemy of all men.” Although these words were eventually comprehended and taken to heart, Maxwell still puts forth his best effort to befriend as many individuals as possible. As far as he’s concerned, it’s near impossible to avoid stepping on a few toes while journeying on the road of life. A man who needlessly makes enemies is an enemy of himself. [break][break]
That said… although he pretends otherwise, he’s not a good judge of character. That sole fact has bitten him in the rear on numerous occasions. As a result of this, it takes a bit of time and caution before the mental barriers guarding his inner thoughts are internally stricken down. Despite what he says about disliking society as a whole, the man’s quite fond of individuals. Finding said persons however simply takes a bit of extra time and resources (both of which he’s severely short on). [break][break]
The shit list is very short for good reason. That said… it’s also carved into stone and put on display. Seriously though, it takes a lot to wriggle underneath Maxwell’s skin. A lot, quantified by either magnitude of the offense or persistence over time. [break][break]Despite the exclusivity of the list, it’s not a good one to be on. With an uncannily good memory, the man holds serious grudges for much longer than he probably should. [break][break]
This is probably the last thing on his mind. Between the blizzard of escaping prison, settling into his new career of piracy, and becoming acquainted with an intimidating roster of fresh faces, romance has sunk pretty low on the self-awareness totem. Then again, it was never high on the totem regardless of his circumstances. Research had always been etched into his brain as a priority, casting aside the extraneous things in life. [break][break]Hell, even if he wanted to enter the mine field he considers to be dating, chances are high it’s going to be an awkward step. It’s whatever really. The world’s got too many people anyway. Asexuality is always a stashed away possibility.[break][break]
