The amethyst haired girl going by the name of Kari is a rather contradictory individual that could be considered a walking enigma. Encountering the female one is usually greeted by the more or less stern expression the young woman intentionally decorates her face with in order to appear tougher than she truly is. Being afraid of being recognized as a member of the La Fayette family and therefore the nobility she detests more than anything, Kari tries her best to mimic the rough and rather rude behaviour she encountered during her travels. Snarky remarks, a habit of inventing random nicknames for those around her as well as a more or less carefree and disrespectful attitude are only some of the means utilized by her in order to make sure no one ever learns the truth about her origin. But even though it might not seem like it at first sight, the mauve haired navigator takes her duty as member of the Revolutionary Army extremely serious as it is her dearest wish to rid the world of the injustice that has infested it.
[break][break]
Beneath this noisy, spiteful and generally rough façade resides a kind and adventurous soul that is driven by curiosity and everything but unsocial. Despite enjoying the company of other people, the former noble actually prefers to keep the fears and doubts that nag at her heart to herself, since she dislikes the thought of being a burden to those she cares about. Ever since she escaped the golden cage that had once been her home, friendship has become one of the most important values in life and she can definitely be considered a loyal comrade that wouldn't shrink from endangering her own life in order to help a friend in need. Regardless of the threats that every so often escape her soft lips in a rather casual manner the lavender topped woman actually dislikes fights and the thought of people getting hurt.
[break][break]
This, however, doesn't make Kari a pacifist, but rather an individual attempting to avoid fighting as long as possible. Hurting those she considers important to her, however, will cause the young woman to discard her serene attitude and becomes rather reckless as she suffers from fear of loss, which results from her being forced to spend most of her childhood as a captive within the protective walls of the family's mansion and therefore having lived in almost complete solitude. Once driven into a corner, she doesn't shrink from making use of her Devil Fruit powers and even dirty tricks, just like she does when indulging in one of her favourite free time activities: gambling. Having been introduced to all kinds of card games during her journeys, the female Revolutionary quickly developed a certain fondness for these games of luck and tries to get into a game whenever she can.
[break][break]
Nowadays possessing the abilities of the Pasa Pasa no Mi has no need for the money moving across the table during such games, but still considers it the most entertaining and pleasant way of gathering funds for the Revolutionary Army.

[attr="class","skinny_content"]
Located within the depths of the East Blue one will find Dawn Island, a larger landmass famous for the massive amount of nobles living within the secluded Kingdom of Goa, which Kari used to consider her home. Born as the sole child of Atticus La Fayette the third, a distant relative of Goa's king, and his wife Lovise, the lavender topped girl enjoyed the luxury of growing up within the city's exclusive 'High Town '-area that surrounded the pompous palace. Consisting of nothing but magnificent mansions this district was solely inhabited by the Kingdom's most wealthy and influential nobles. Her parents, who considered themselves superior to other nobles, spent most of the day taking care of the family's business in order to increase their influence and power, leaving their only daughter in the care of teachers that were supposed to prepare the innocent child for the role she would have to play once she was old enough to marry the noble that would grant their family the most benefit.
[break][break]
Prohibited from leaving the house without her parents, due to their fear of their daughter interacting with 'filthy' creatures, the amethyst topped child spent most of her youth within the mansion's library after getting tired of watching the world through the glasses of locked windows. Reading books about missing islands, old temples, unknown tribes and hidden treasures the youth's imagination was fired. Amongst the reams of information mentioned within the books, she found a few rather old hydrographical charts that made her realize how large the world outside her window truly was. Her dreams of exploring bizarre places and unravelling the mysteries connected to them somehow allowed her to make it through the sheer endless hours of education she was put through by the private teachers her father had hired.
[break][break]
Friendship was a term that the female only knew from the tales she had found within books and the stories some of the employees told her during her parents' absence; and the more she heard about it, the heavier grew her heart as it longed for the company of those she could consider her friends. Years passed and nothing changed, since her father had made sure, that the young child had no chance of sneaking out of the mansion or getting in contact with what he would call lowly life-forms. The purple haired girl had long since succeeded in copying and reading the maps she had found as she attempted to internalize the very foundations of navigation. Sure, she at first simply wanted to keep herself entertained, but she soon developed an interest in the rather complex work of navigation itself.
[break][break]
Shortly after her sixteenth birthday Kari was told that her mother had finally found the perfect husband for her, someone belonging to a family that was in some way related to the World Government. Both, her father and mother were overcome with joy and looking forward to the marriage, while the blonde felt more distressed than she had ever before. Well aware that she had to somehow escape this golden cage she asked her parents to take her to the market in order to buy a present for her future husband that was capable of reflecting the wealth and influence of their family. Blinded by the fortune that awaited them if the wedding went smoothly, her greedy parents agreed to the girl's suggestion, taking her to the city's market, where the most exotic goods were offered. Making their way across the crowd, Kari waited for the opportunity to vanish within the river of faces in order to escape the life her parents had planned for her.
[break][break]
Not hesitating the slightest moment the young noble then suddenly rushed past the hired guardians, squeezing her way through the crowd. Obviously the trained men ran after the innocent teen in an attempt of catching her, but their muscular frames weren't capable of passing through the mob as smoothly as the slender female. Having no idea where she was supposed to go and well aware that she would be caught if she didn't manage to quickly find a proper hiding-place, Kari jumped onto a carriage filled junk that was headed for Gray Terminal. Hiding between the scrap the lavender haired teen managed to get away from her pursuers as the carriage passed through the great gate. Jumping off the cart as soon as the massive portal had closed, a liberating mixture of relief and excitement washed over the young noble.
[break][break]
Standing in front of the junk mountains, the proof of nobility's lavish way of living, the flaxen topped female was shocked as the scale of this junkyard surpassed her wildest imaginations. Convinced that liberty and adventure awaited her beyond the scenery of discarded items, she started to make her way across the same, using the copy of a map she had found inside a book about Dawn Island and a compass to orient herself. Unnecessary to say that she didn't get far as the map was outdated and the maze of junk was beyond what the inexperienced teen could have possibly hoped to handle. Staying across the sheer endless corridors created by the reams of abandoned objects for hours, the ground beneath her at some point gave in, causing the flamboyant girl to fall into one of the many tunnels running below the mountains of junk.
[break][break]
Hitting her head as she slid down into one of the countless tunnels forming a labyrinth similar to an ants nest, the world around the Kari went dark as she lost her consciousness. Awakened by an unfamiliar sensation of pain, which apparently originated from her cramping stomach, she found herself lying in a room she had never seen before; a small hut whose interior was in no way comparable to the furniture she had known from the golden cage she had once called home. With no idea how much time had passed since she had unintentionally ventured into the mysterious underground of Gray Terminal and her awakening, she found herself too weak to get up and faced a hunger she had never experienced before. Quite convinced that she was going to die, Kari was surprised when her saviour suddenly returned to his home after scavenging the nearby area.
[break][break]
Being offered not only food, but a place to stay the old salt, who eventually introduced himself as Barrin, helped the young teen slowly recover from her ordeal. Fortunately for her the former seaman had no interest in returning her to her parents in hopes of a reward and allowed her stay for as long as she wanted. He was fascinated by the youngster's vast, theoretical knowledge about navigation and told her stories about the times before the so-called 'Era of Infamy', the way of the world and about the one group he firmly believed to one day bring true peace and equality to the people: the Revolutionary Army. Kari had never understood why her parents had talked down on other people, but hearing the members of nobility did more than just revile commoners she felt disgusted to be of noble blood.
[break][break]
After months of careful planning the amethyst haired girl finally left Dawn Island with Barrin's help and started her quest of finding the infamous Revolutionary Army in order to hopefully join their ranks. Finding them, however, proved more difficult than she had expected and it took her more than three years until she had finally managed to get into contact with them. During these years she became witness to unspeakable crimes committed by those supposed to rule over and shelter their people and she came to the conclusion that nobles and the World Government that secured their powers and privileges were worse than the pirates they blamed for the pain of the people. It was shortly before she finally was accepted as a part of the movement she had longed to join ever since she had been saved by Barrin when she by chance came across one of the legendary Devil Fruits.
[break][break]
She had heard of them during her journey across the oceans and knew that they supposedly bestowed powers on the person that dared to take a bite. Willing to be of help to the people she considered the true heroes of justice, Kari took a bite after a few days of hesitation. Two years have passed since then and the young female has by now managed to make a name for herself amongst the members of the Revolutionary Army and joined the Bullet Club.
