■ LEADERS Official and otherwise, these two positions are more TITLES than they are actual occupations. A character would still have an occupation while occupying these positions.
■ ESSENTIALS These are pretty much MUST-HAVES on your crew or group if you don't want to go pay for services.
■ OTHER These positions on the ship are either those we find not as crucial as the others, but noticable to mention. Of the many jobs there are to fill on a ship or in the world, these are just some we'd thought to mention.
■ LEADERS Official and otherwise, these two positions are more TITLES than they are actual occupations. A character would still have an occupation while occupying these positions.
◆ CAPTAIN - The CAPTAIN is the heart of the crew. They are the undoubted leader of the group who makes the decisions and should be the strongest member of the group. Contrary to popular belief, the Captain role is more a title than occupation and here on Infamy, captains will be able to have a secondary job for the fact that no one is able to start out as a captain. To become a captain, one must have the LEADER trait as either their primary, secondary, or tertiary attributes. A captain could still perform any of the duties listed above, so upon character creation, would list any of the above under their occupation section. Once a character with the leader trait has 2 followers and a boat of any kind, they’re able to be acknowledged as a captain.
◆ FIRST MATE - The FIRST MATE is another title position much like a captain and is more a title than a captain. The first mate is the second command of the crew, appointed by the captain in a time where the captain is absent. Because they may be appointed at any time, some crews find the position filled permanently while others only see the need for a first mate whenever the captain isn’t around - 100% up to the captain, the first mate isn’t an essential position, it’s just whoever you decide to put in charge at the time.
■ ESSENTIALS These are pretty much MUST-HAVES on your crew or group if you don't want to go pay for services.
◆ NAVIGATOR - NAVIGATORS are a must have on a crew unless you want to find yourself wandering the sea to random locations or paying for a ferry on every voyage. The navigator is he/she would guide the ship on the waters to get to the next destination safely, utilizing their knowledge of sailing and weather to keep the crew from any environmental trouble while getting to their destination as quickly as possible.
◆ DOCTOR - While out on the sea anything might happen from illness to combat related injuries, so a DOCTOR is one of the essential positions on the crew. It’s the doctor's job to keep the crew healthy and in fighting shape at all times to avoid death. If there is no doctor on your ship, getting your character(s) to a hospital would be your best bet for healing although you never know what kind of trouble you might run into on an island.
■ OTHER These positions on the ship are either those we find not as crucial as the others, but noticable to mention. Of the many jobs there are to fill on a ship or in the world, these are just some we'd thought to mention.
◆ COOK - Food is highly important while out on the sea so it’s the COOKS job to provide those meals. However much people don’t realize, not all crews require a cook as some crews leave it up to their individual members to cook for themselves. Unless you’re wanting to be a top line cook, the position may not be critical to the ship and can simply be thrown on any character who knows how to use a stove.
◆ ARCHAEOLOGY - ARCHAEOLOGY will play an interesting role to the site. Archaeologists, or historians, are those characters who indulge in researching artifacts and events that have come before them. They are knowledgeable in the present world, staying up to date on current events and doing their best to stay in the know. Adventuring with an archaeologist increases your chances of finding the item or weapon you’re looking for as they’re able to use their vast intellect to key in on your goal.
◆ MUSICIAN - Keeping spirits high on the ship is the job of the MUSICIAN. They’re around for entertainment and to make the crew happy in times of great sadness. In the event of a party, it’s the musician's job to get things revved up. Like some of the jobs in the ‘other’ category, the musician doesn’t have to be a sole position on a character and may be delegated to any character who can perform. Singing or playing instruments is a skill that many could have and doesn’t necessarily have to be thrown on a sole character.
◆ SHIPWRIGHT - SHIPWRIGHTS construct and do maintenance on ships. They’re masters of construction and are your handymen of the world. What makes shipwrights so interesting is the fact they may utilize their constructive skills to invent various items and machines. While they are in the ‘other’ category, shipwrights may be highly essential to the ship. If your ship takes damage while out at sea it may be a major obstacle to make it to an island to pay for repairs. Additionally, shipwrights get huge discounts on ships & ship parts, capable of constructing machines through ic means.
◆ SCIENTIST - Similar to both a doctor and a shipwright is the SCIENTIST. Another position foreign to some crews, the scientist can fill a variety of roles on a crew depending on the character, but more often than not are around to test out their scientific skills. It is these characters that perform cyborg surgeries as well as invent extreme projects like artificial devil fruits and more.
◆ CUSTOM - CUSTOM refers to any position not listed that you can think of. On Infamy, all characters have the ability to fall under an occupation not listed here, everything is up to the creativity of the creator. If I were to list out all the possible roles on a ship we’d be here all day so things were shortened to these few. Custom may be whatever you can think of, ranging from CABIN BOY to LOOKOUT to ASSASSIN and more.
■ SECONDARY OCCUPATION - In exchange for an attribute, you can pick up a second occupation.
