All alone in this dark corridor, save for the horde of jacked animals, Hector leaped from one to the next. With each jump, he wrestled the collars off the mind-controlled animals, snapping it like the wish bone of a turkey and throwing it to the cave floor to sit with remnants of bones he'd failed to notice. While it was extremely dark, there was light coming from the end of the tunnel, a faint glow hinting to daylight. It didn't matter, his cybernetic eye had been constructed to operate with extreme efficiency, even under these unyielding conditions. Slowly but surely, he picked off corrupted beasts, restoring purity to the giant petting zoo who tackled him with joy.
After a good laugh and a cuddle puddle with every lion, hippo, and bear in the room, he climbed on the back of an elephant and made his way towards the light—usually, this is ill-advised. As they began to descend into the depths of the volcano, the herd shifted from a mild trot to a full gallop, each step of his elephant mount shaking the immediate area. Still, the light surrounding them had grown in presence, until the world around him was fully visible again. Rather than finding himself in the light of day, he found himself in a giant, excavated mine shaft. The end of the tunnel had brought the herd to a stop at a ledge the overlooked the giant open area before them. While it seemed unreasonably large, with the resources of the World Government this was an easy feat. They had reinforced the entirety of the warehouse-like section of the cave, filling it with connecting mind shafts that Hector suspected led to the Laboratory.
Nonetheless, he watched intently as natives from the village poured out of connecting tunnels, each with a massive ball and chain linked to his or her ankle. There were guards here too. White-suits lined the room, though none of them possessed any firearms, hinting at the fragile nature of this facility. Suddenly, it felt as though the entire volcano was shaking, even knocking some rocks loose from the ceiling of the cave, but after a few moments, it faded to nothing. "Get back to work, savages!" A marine soldier's shout filled the room, the crack of his whip followed by screams of pain. A worker had collapsed near a giant machine at the opposite end of the room, where others had stopped to support him and help him to his feet.
'What the fuck is that?' he wondered, patiently observing from his "crow's nest" above them. It looked as though they had created a machine to siphon lava from the volcano, somehow converting massive amounts of energy from the heat into usable power. The natives were shoveling massive amounts of molten rock, that formed as a byproduct of the process, into minecarts and rolling them out of the mountain—as they believed it to be. A flash of heat overtook his whole body as every muscle tensed to resist the anger swelling inside of him. "CHARGE!" he shouted, and just like that the stampeded was running full speed down the hill from their ledge. A cloud of dirt and debris forming around them with every heavy-footed step of these hulked out beasts.
While the natives fell to their knees, bowing to the stampede of animals with Hector at their head, the Marines in the room suddenly felt the tables turning. A look of shock filled most of their faces as they stood frozen, clutching their weapons like the edge of a cliff. A few scurried off into the tunnels, likely to alert authorities, and sure as a gun, a blaring alarm took to the airs. Well fuck, Hector had managed to alert the entirety of the facility to his presence and seeing as how this machine seemed to be the epicenter of their operations, there were likely reinforcements on the way. At least he had some of his own, these animals were dangerous as fuck and looking to get some retribution for all their mistreatment. The tribesmen could take arms too, but he had to convince them of his purpose.
