He sat at the bar room counter. Counting on his daily blessing of being alive to see another day. Ringley was also enjoying his usual with mug of perfectly brewed ale, stout just like he liked it. His drink was to celebrate a semi-successful job done in Sabaody. He rarely ventured far from Mock Town, but the pay out was too good for him to pass up. Still unsure about his standing alongside Kara, he decided to official put the matter away from his thoughts as he drowned his sights into his drink. His mind instead began to just revolve around what was around him, and being in Mock Town it was usually just around the pirates who populated and convened on this small slice of land in the great blues. Pirate talk as usual, and with everyone playing nice he didn't feel the need to tense up at all. The pirates around these parts were smart... at least in the regard of not pissing off his older brother Bailey. However, with the recent jailbreak there was no telling as to how much these people were willing to push their luck. As he drank, his teeth released the end of his toothpick, dropping the small sliver of wood down into his chilled mug. With a long sigh he started to ready himself for another round. Unfortunately the perks of being the Vice Mayor's brother didn't warrant him any freebies from any establishment in town. "Damn... Almost dry.", he'd mutter softly to himself, his words barely audible enough for anyone to pick up on. He managed his money well enough, but there was always the fear that he'd overdo things and spend all of his berri quenching his massive thirst. He'd lean back in his seat with his arms folded tightly against his chest. Soon enough this small vacation would have to end, and he'd have to find another bounty to hunt down and collect on. However, the beauty of living in Mock Town, was that he'd find someone eventually. He never really liked to hunt where he rested his head. However, there was never a lack of information around these parts. Pirates did after all love to talk, and tall-tales, rumors, and whereabouts seemed to be topics of conversation that they specialized in. All it took was being in the right place at the right time. His ears and eyes would remain vigilant as he'd slowly size up everyone he could process inside of the tavern... waiting.

What do you do with a drunken sailor
It had been a slow night for Tom. He had been down in his luck in finding a new crew to sale with, down in his luck on finding work to make a few spare Beri, just down in his luck. But oh how the drinks flowed well. Nothing a few pints wouldn't wash away as the night went on. Merry making for the sake of his sanity had become a routine since his arrival in Mock Town. It was a good way to meet other sailors and a distraction from the diminishing coin in his purse. Not that the evenings spent in the pub helped that any but Tom was a creature of habit and drinking like a fish was one of those habits. Oh and the drink was with him on this particular evening. Under his messy wild black locks the face of the pirate had taken the hue of a tomato. A curled look of concentration had carved it's way into his features as he listened intently to the two strangers sitting on either side of him swapping stories. A belch worked past his lips as he was recanted with the tales of men at sea. The one man claimed to have seen a woman that was half fish. Not like the Fishmen that were all to common on the Grand Line but a fair lass with a finned tail like she was half swallowed by a fish. Tom's eyes were wide at the thought of coming across such a thing. Though of course it would be his luck seeing as if he so much as fell in the water he'd be a dead man. The man to Tom's left boasted having cleared a schooner of Marine's by himself. No. With one hand behind his back. Tom was skeptical of the obvious lie but it seemed enough to get the admiration the the man beside him. The Elephant Man scoffed loudly at the concept slapping his hand down on the bar loudly. "Right crock of shit that is lad." The same hand lifted his tankard to his lips where he drained the rest of the liquid that seemed to have warmed over their stories. "You lot wanna be impressed look no further!" His deep voice carried over the crowd, being quiet after a few drinks was something that Tom found to be out of his capabilities. He swept a look along the bar at the others men seated there who seemed to have taken interest in the loud man sitting at the bar. "You're looking at a regular scourge o' the seas! I sailed under the Giant Pirate Tiny Tim!" There were a few shambles of recognition across the crowd but his former Captain had only managed to amass a 50,000,000 Beri bounty so he was far from the most well known pirate. Tom panicked at the lack of reaction his eyes darted among the crowd in desperation to keep their enthrallment. He adorned a wide toothy grin and leaned back as the barkeep slid him another tankard. "I've amassed a 20,000,000 Beri bounty meself. Wanted man. So mind your manners boys." He let out a bellowing laugh as he clapped the man to his left on the shoulder and tipped back his drink to his lips. Unfortunately he tipped a little too far and with a mighty crash the large man fell to the floor. The shattered remains of the stool shifted under him as Tom lolled back for a moment, his head swimming in the drink. "Maybe one too many boys." Tom laughed loudly though he was far from his best at that moment. Slowly he worked his way back up to his feet. He staggered as he used the bar as a stabilizer to gain his footing. "I'll go drain the ol' lizard and I'll clean that up lads promise." Carefully he made his way to the back door of the tavern. As he burst through the door into the alley Tom whistled a tune to himself as he strode to the opposite wall. One hand on the wall along with his head for balance Tom was oblivious to the world behind him while he took care of his business. |
