[googlefont=Asar] [attr="class","carrie"]Sometime after the Saboady Prison Break. . .
A several days trip from Saboady Archipelago in a vast expanse of the sea rest a bottle. Not just any bottle; a wine bottle. As it floated across the waters surface carried by the waves, it unknowingly collided with another object much greater than it in size. This object being. . . a giant bottle? No, not just a giant bottle, but a champagne bottle leaning perfectly at a 75 degree angle. This is Liver's Rest, a famous floating restaurant, or more accurately bar restaurant. Known for its insanely large collection of alcohols, it is every drinkers paradise. As for the name, the owners believed even Liver's need a drink from time to time to unwind, despite its harmful effects on said organ.
The sheer size of this place is greater than two of the largest Marine galleons, and could even be compared to a miniature island. Entering Liver's Rest one immediately arrives into a massive round plaza with tables, and seats of the highest caliber, and design placed in a swirling pattern starting from the center, expanding outwards. Along the edges of the plaza are an assortment of stores, and bars that each specialize in a different type of alcohol. Lining the walls of this place are thousands upon thousands of different bottles, barrels, and any other form of container used to house drinks. Some 15 meters up are several balconies circling the plaza. Obviously VIP rooms for high paying customers.
Countless customers can be seen sitting at the various bars, or at the tables where they are served by waiters. And despite the countless drunkards, there is neither chaos or an excessive amount of noise.
Sitting at a table on the periphery of the plaza, I downed a glass of hot sake anxiously as I waited for company to arrive, specifically Maxwell. As a Fishman of his word, I also expect others to be beholden to theirs. Thus I invited Maxwell to this place for a drink, as was agreed upon when I helped him to escape the Marine prison back on Saboady. I had left word with the hostess I expected company so Maxwell need but mention my name, and he would be led to where I sat. Maxwell, however, is not the reason for my anxiousness.
Held in my hand is a small brown piece of paper with the large words "WANTED" plastered at the top. Yes, this is my very own bounty poster. Now while it might be common for a Pirate such as myself to celebrate receiving such a high bounty, as someone with heroic aspirations this made me anything but joyful. How am I supposed to help the common folk with a bounty on my head? As I contemplated these thoughts I signaled to a nearby waitress who immediately headed over. "An order of Whiskey on the rocks. The stronger, the better." Once confirming my order, the waitress headed off to fetch my drink leaving me to groan internally as I stared at my wanted poster for the thousandth time, as if looking at it intensely enough would magically make it disappear.[newclass=.carrie]padding: 20px; font: 12px asar; text-align: justify;box-shadow: 0px 0px 7px #838383;[/newclass][newclass=.carrie::first-letter]font: 12px/12px arial;[/newclass]

MAXWELL early thirties | human | hired heroes A Whale, and a Convict walk into a bar. . . It appeared that rueful day had finally come. With the crew’s ship grinding to a halt at Liver’s Rest, Maxwell found himself called upon to do anything but that. Making good on their previous promise, I’Orca had already arranged for the two to meet up within the large plaza for the sole purpose of indulging in alcohol together. It wasn’t this that the man was opposed to the idea, but rather that no one else had been invited as well. Having had little time to familiarize himself with his former neighboring inmate, or the others for that matter, the chemist felt a bit out of place and perhaps unwelcome. To be singled out by the hulking whale only left him with a bit more skepticism as perhaps he had treaded carelessly and broken a taboo rule of sorts while freeloading on their vessel. Was the fishman was doing him a favor by wanting to speak privately? The bearded man could only shake his head helplessly once to clear his thoughts before stepping into the gargantuan plaza. There was no point on thinking too deeply into the situation. Perhaps I’Orca truly did wish to simply share a drink between the two. There was nothing strange with that, right?... Unless fishmen could also lean towards deviant tendencies, in which case the scientist feared for the future of his blow hole. A mocking laugh sounded from the man’s throat as he’d immediately dismiss the notion, refusing to dwell on it any longer. Having spoken to the hostess, the figure swiftly lead the way, having been notified of Maxwell’s expected arrival long beforehand. It didn’t long to spot his destination. A large, albeit seated, hulking figure stood out along the plaza side like a mountain amongst hills. His face forced into a practiced smile, a hand reached over to firmly pat the orca on the shoulder. “Haah! You started without me? Looks like I need to catch up. Bring me two pints of ale!” A hurt and obviously feigned expression formed towards the fishman, as he’d jokingly wave with dismissal at the hostress after placing his own order. Without waiting for invitation, the chemist simply sat down on the opposing end of the table, creating yet a second mountain of slightly smaller yet comparable size. His gaze now fixated upon the leaflet held by the opposing member, he’d raise an eye skeptically before asking. “Careful there, if you stare at that paper too long you might hurt yourself. Want me to read it for you?” Yet another joking laugh was had… but internally the man was secretly wondering whether or not the fishman could read. MADE BY VEL OF GS

[googlefont=Asar] [attr="class","carrie"]In my state of distress I did not notice Maxwell had arrived until his hand landed upon my shoulder.
"Ah you're here. Zeharahara! This drink?" I said as I waved at the empty bottle of Sake attempting to downplay its existence."This is nothing. Merely an appetizer. Please order whatever you'd like. It's my treat this time."
As Maxwell took his seat, I could not help, but look toward my wanted poster again despite not wishing to; an action Maxwell keenly noticed. Letting loose a clearly annoyed sigh, I placed the piece of paper face down on to the table.
"Ha-ha-ha. Very funny. I can ready perfectly fine thank you very much. Its just the contents of this don't exactly make me happy."
Despite my reluctance, I slid the parchment across the table toward Maxwell. Only once he'd seen it would I speak up.
"I'm not sure about you, but I don't particularly like having a bounty on my head. I mean it is not exactly heroic for a person to be wanted by the government right? How about you? Does your bounty bother you?" I said without fear of others overhearing. Luckily for our entire crew, this establishment valued its neutrality, and would not allow neither Marines, or Pirates cause trouble lest suffering heavy penalties.
Sighing for the umpteenth time this day, I looked around the plaza to see what sort of drink I'd like next despite my previous drink still on its way. And as luck would have it, our drinks arrived before I could make a decision. Taking the glass of whiskey, I thanked the waitress before downing the entire drink in a single gulp. As I had not made my decision for the next drink I told the waitress to "surprise me" before turning to listen to what Maxwell had to say. MAXWELL early thirties | human | hired heroes A Whale, and a Convict walk into a bar. . . Oh. So the fishman could read after all. Though a slight look of surprise betrayed Maxwell’s true thoughts, he’d simply brush it off as a joke while nodding at I’Orca. “Yaah… I knew zat! They have ze books und ze words und ze read-y thing in the ocean too, of course!” A shit eating grin was now plastered upon the man’s face as he refrained from outright bursting into laughter. His playful mockery however would only partially subside upon seeing the bounty leaflet. Eyes glimmering with a bit of skepticism as he browsed over the paper’s contents, he’d eventually tilt his head in understanding while forming an expression that conveyed a sense of confusion. “Ehh… ze bounty is inconvenient, but ve knew vhat vas coming vhen we left those cells.”
It was at this point that the waitress had returned with drinks in hands. Three large mugs of a dark, bubbling and aromatic looking brew were in tow. Apparently she had gotten lazy and the surprise the whale had requested was simply a third drink of whatever Maxwell had ordered. Nodding once with appreciation, the older looking man reached out for one of the mugs. “Careful, it’s hot. You’ve been varned.” Glass extending outward to offer a wordless toast to his new found companion, a moment of silence ensued as he’d take the time to drain the entire receptacle. Only after doing so did he resume their conversation, his lips smacking with a sense of satisfaction as he sighed, letting out a strongly spiced waft from his breath, one strong enough to induce tears from the heat alone. Should I’Orca partake as well, he’d find himself met with an incredibly spicy draft, one practically bursting at the seams with capsaicin and boiled just shy of evaporation. “How high vas mine? Hopefully not too high.” He was obviously referencing his own bounty. Though he seemed to have come to terms with its existence, it appeared as though Maxwell had some sense of sanity remaining, wishing for a less troublesome value. “Besides zis government is ein corrupt shithole anyway. Only real heroes haff bounties, ya?” Still a bit surprised at I’Orca’s hero complex, the man could only pause to offer a few brief words of reassurance. MADE BY VEL OF GS

[googlefont=Asar] [attr="class","carrie"]Purposefully ignoring Maxwell's distasteful remarks about my home, I found myself starting to believe his words. And that is with the fact we met not too long ago, and had not spent much time conversing. In fact this is most we have talked ever since our encounter in the jail cells.
"I understand that this was bound to happen with how much trouble we caused, but it still doesn't mean I can be happy about this. Those damn Marines left us with no choice."
Truthfully I knew the ones truly left with no choice regarding this bounty was the Marines. With how much attention I had attracted, it is surprising this did not happen sooner. In the end though I knew one truth, this is all Axcel's fault. The root of every problem I encountered since our meeting could be attributed to him, but complaining about it didn't solve anything. Sadly there exist a limit to how much comfort I derived from cursing his existence.
When the drinks arrived, I thanked the waitress before chugging nearly the entire concoction down. Bad decision. Even with Maxwell's warning, I was too distracted with my thoughts to register his warning. My eyes began to bulge in discomfort as the strength of the drink hit me, and it took quite some effort not to break out into a fit of coughing. To be honest the drink wasn't bad. It simply caught me off guard.
"T-that is quite the concoction."
As I took a few dry coughs to clear (soothe) my throat I found myself yet again believing in Maxwell's words. Like he said, the government itself is corrupted. I knew as I had run ins with many corrupt government officials. Though perhaps saying "Only Heroes have bounties" is going a bit far, it did ease my mind. So what if those Marine bastards posted a reward for me? It is just one of their tricks to turn the common folk against me, and it nearly worked. Those crafty bastards.
"Hmm, your words do make sense. As for your bounty it is less than the price of my head. A bit less than 30 million berri, I believe. At least if they ever come after us you can hide behind the ones with a higher price on their head! Zeharaharahara!"
Of course I said that last part sarcastically. [newclass=.carrie]padding: 20px; font: 12px asar; text-align: justify;box-shadow: 0px 0px 7px #838383;[/newclass][newclass=.carrie::first-letter]font: 12px/12px arial;[/newclass]

MAXWELL early thirties | human | hired heroes A Whale, and a Convict walk into a bar. . . An amused expression was plastered across Maxwell’s face as he’d watch the orca struggle with the beverage initially. Eventually his companion got past the initial hurdle however, downing the remainder of the mug and earning himself a nod of approval from the chemist. “Not bad. Looks like you can hold ze drink quite vell.”Though it was obvious that I’Orca hadn’t originally bought into the older man’s words, he could tell that they left an impact. The longer his fish friend dwelled on them, the more and more he’d become predisposed to agreeing with it. It was something one could tell by the amount of bitter stewing that occurred after the fact. His suspicions were eventually confirmed as his companion spoke up once more, vindicating his original hunch. A harsh and dry laugh sounded as Maxwell cleared his throat in the process, slapping his knee once while raising an eyebrow at I’Orca. “Haaaah! I’ll keep that in mind. No takebacksies, ja?” Though the fishman was obviously being sarcastic, the chemist had instead chosen to ignore that aspect and instead took a raincheck. Considering the whale man’s personality, his word was most likely good regardless of the context behind it. A hand waved dismissively as he’d chuckle and attempt to dissuade any uneasiness or shock from his drinking partner. “Don’t vurry, I’m sturdier than you think. It vill take more than some schitty marines to beat down zis old man.” Pausing yet another moment, he’d reach for his second mug, this time sipping at it more to quench his parched throat. It was a vicious cycle really. The heat left him craving for more, but the entire process only furthered his dehydration. “So uhh… how did you end up vith that idiot? And ze robot man. He seems sorta uhh… dead inside.”MADE BY VEL OF GS

[googlefont=Asar] [attr="class","carrie"]"Of course I can. Zeharaharahara! Alcohol is one of the few things I truly enjoy."
However even after saying such I could not help, but feel some discomfort from that previous drink. Not that I could not handle it mind you, but as someone who enjoyed the refreshing, and cool feeling of the sea, such intense heat made me feel uncomfortable. Gesturing to the waitress, I'd order a large mug of something called "Arctic Freeze" before turning to Maxwell with an amused look.
"Zeharahara! I am sure you can take care of yourself, though it might be a bit hard to hide behind Axcel with your size. Zeharahara!"
Shortly after my remark the waitress would return pushing a cart, and on it a mug nearly half her size filled to the brim with an icy blue concoction. You could see the frosty air emanating from it along with ice crystals starting to form around the rim. Thanking the young human waitress, I grabbed the mug, and drank a mouthful. As one would expect with the name Artic Freeze, the concoction itself is akin to drinking liquid nitrogen, but with a high alcohol content. Immediately my throat was soothed of that burning heat.
"Aahhh! Now that is refreshing."
But that refreshing feeling did not last long when I heard the question Maxwell posed. Immediately my expression shifted from oen of joy to one much less happy.
"Ugh! Don't remind me of those times. Things could not have been worse. Not only was I framed several times by some corrupt government officials, I sorta. . . kinda. . . almost killed Axcel." The latter part of the answer trailing off into almost a whisper.
"With my mistake I couldn't refuse his request, and I've been stuck with him ever since. It was only supposed to be one time though. . . And as for the one with almost dead eyes, I'm still not sure why we have him around. First we met he was terrorizing some island until Axcel, and I came along. We put a stop to that, but somehow Axcel had it in him to invite the guy along."
At this point I couldn't help but sigh as my head drooped down.
"I seem to end up teaming up with everyone I've tried to harm. You're sure we haven't met before right? I didn't try to kill you on some other occasion right?" I said looking to Maxwell.
"But enough about me, and my problems. How'd you even end up in that jail cell? I'm sure you can imagine how I ended up there, but you don't seem like someone who would typically get arrested." MAXWELL early thirties | human | hired heroes A Whale, and a Convict walk into a bar. . . A look of amusement and curiosity formed across Maxwell’s face as he listened attentively. “Baahaha!” Though trying to pent it inside, the old man couldn’t help but bursting into laughter upon hearing of I’Orca’s association with Axcel. Considering the fishman’s disposition, it the chemist’s guess hadn’t been too far off from the mark. How else were such diametrically opposing personalities to cooperate otherwise? What caught the man off guard however were the details pertaining to Jun. A lone eye rose curiously as he’d continue sipping away at his mug, only to motion at the waitress to bring him a drink similar to his companion’s. “Huh? So let me get zis straight. Ze dead looking one vuz a villain on some schitty island?... And zat blockhead of a dunce vanted him to tag along? Vhat a strange man. Perhaps a little bit brain damaged?” Before Maxwell could ponder further over this matter however, the fishman had already diverted the subject towards the other member. “Nein, ve haven’t met before, not that I know of at least.” A dismissive hand waved at the whale while laughing, a clear attempt at diversion. “Same old really, marines scurry about like rats and jump to ze wrong conclusion. You know how it is.” The man’s fist clenched calmly while resting against the table as he’d look around for his follow up drink. Upon seeing that it had yet to arrive, he’d sigh while continuing on a bit more. It wouldn’t hurt to expound a teeny bit right? After all, I’Orca had done the same. “You see, vhen the government asks you to do research, it iz implied that it iz all super secret. And vhen you decide to retire?... You best be ready to run, spend your days in ze cells… or have good life insurance.” Though it wasn’t quite entirely the truth, it was enough to paint a picture for the fishman. One Maxwell had selectively decided to portray. MADE BY VEL OF GS
